Breastfeeding in the Sling

For mums who got a good grip on babywearing and breastfeeding and need some help with joining these inseparable skills

First session is an hour long sling learning. First, you will learn about physiology and psychology of breastfeedig. Then I will introduce you to a variaty of sling and babywearing positions that will allow you to breastfeed safely and effectively. Finally I will help you decide on the most suitable babywearing & breastfeeding options for you and your baby.

Second session is all about practice. You will try babywearing & breastfeeding positions of your choice while getting lots of practical tips and plenty of encouragement and suport while you are learning. The session takes one to one hour and a half. Time allows for baby feeding/changing breaks.

After each session you will be contacted by your babywearing consultant – first with some information related to what has been covered during the consultation. Then with the regular follow-up on your progress and more useful advice. In the meantime, you are always welcome to send photos with you and your baby in the sling and ask any questions.

Safety is an extremely important issue when it comes to breastfeeding in the sling. You will learn to position your baby in a safe and physiologically correct way.

I will itroduce you to the variaty of breastfeeding positions according to your baby's development stage and your personal needs.

Do not own a sling?

You do not need to own a sling to be able to start learning. In fact, one of the goals of my teaching is to help you find your best baby carrier. In case you want to try different slings before you decide, in our sling library we have a few options for you to try.

FAQ

When can I start wearing my baby?
Generally speaking you can start wearing your baby right from birth. Technically speaking – it depends on the carrier type. Most versatile carriers to be used right from birth are a ring sling and a wrap (woven or stretchy).
Do I need to own a sling?
The purpose of a babywearing consultation is to help you select the right carrier for you and your family. However, if you have a carrier that you need help with, I will tailor the consultation to the specifics of your chosen sling.
Can I get help choosing the sling?
Your babywearing consultant can help you choose the carrier which is most appropriate for your situation (considering baby age, planned use of the carrier, and other criteria). If needed she will contact the manufacturer of particular kind of sling to obtain additional information
Can I split the consultation into several parts?
Each consulation is approximately one hour long. If during the session you or your baby feel like you need to stop, you can do so by scheduling a consultation on a different date / time. Each session can be broken into maximu two parts.

This option applies to online consultations only.
Can I break during the consultation?
By all means! You take a short (5-10 minutes) break if your need to attend to your baby. You can also watch the demonstration while breastfeeding your baby, rocking your baby to sleep or whatever you and your baby feel comfortable doing.
What if I am not sure about the type of consultation?
Babywearing session is tailored to your and your baby's uhique needs, so feel free to email me with the description of your personal situation so I can adapt to your goals.
